At Casino de la Vallée, Saint-Vincent it is possible to play Texas Hold’em Poker in the cash version, both Pot limit and No limit or Fixed limit versions, depending on the client’s request. Texas Hold’em Poker (Texan Poker) is the most widely-played version of poker in the world today. It is played with a 52-card deck. Texas Hold’em starts with two players placing a small blind bet and a big blind bet respectively.
Then dealing takes place; every player receivs two face-down cards, which can’t be seen by the other players.
Once the cards have been dealt, the first betting round starts. The dealer then places three community cards on the table (the flop) and the second betting round follows. When this is finished a fourth community card (the turn) is dealt. After the third betting round, the fifth and last community card (the river) is dealt.
Once all of the cards are on the table, the last betting round opens and if more than one player is still in the game, the cards are turned over in the showdown.
The players have the following options each time it is their turn to bet:

  • fold;
  • call;
  • raise.

When the cards are turned over at the end of the game, each player puts together the best hand using his face-down cards and the community cards. It is possible to use one of the following combinations: two face-down cards and three community cards, one face-down card and four community cards, or just the community cards. The winner is the player with the highest scoring combination.
